This research investigates the systems that sustain animal exploitation, with emphasis on social media influence, public perception of animals, weak or inconsistent law enforcement, and the global exotic pet trade. It looks at how online visibility can normalize ownership and commodification of animals, while gaps in regulation allow these practices to continue with limited accountability. Together, these factors reveal a cycle where cultural attitudes and legal structures reinforce one another, shaping the framework for the exhibition’s concept and visual language.
